1000 Experts on Women’s Health Meet in Vancouver
June 22-27, 2006

Why: 62nd Annual Clinical Meeting of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada, attracting leading experts to share knowledge and research on latest innovations and best practices in women’s health care. This is the second time the Society has held their ACM in Vancouver.
Who: Over 1000 delegates from across Canada including obstetricians, gynaecologists, family physicians, GPs, nurses, midwives, residents, med students.
What: Over 50 sessions on everything from menopause to child birth to sexual desire to continuous contraception.
Where: The Westin Bayshore Resort and Marina, Vancouver, BC
When: June 22-27, 2006 - 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Ob/Gyn and HIV/AIDS Panel Discussion: Expert representatives from Canada, the United States, Haiti, Uganda, Guatemala, and Mexico will meet to discuss the challenges and potential rewards of integrating efforts to address the global HIV/AIDS pandemic with efforts to prevent the hundreds of thousands of women who die needlessly during childbirth each year.

FAS Costs Billions. Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD): Though entirely preventable, FASD is the leading cause of developmental and cognitive disabilities among children, FASD causes life-long health effects. The SOGC will examine newly developed techniques for diagnosing FASD and new research on FASD’s cost to Canadians.
