Biography
Dr Helen Pymar is a Professor in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Director of the Early Pregnancy Termination Program and Early Pregnancy Assessment Clinic (EPAC) at Women’s Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She completed a Fellowship in Family Planning and Contraception (Magee Women’s Hospital) and a Master’s in Public Health (University of Pittsburgh) in 2001. Dr Pymar received her medical degree in 1994 from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario and completed her residency at Western University London, Ontario in 1999. She has an interest in ultrasound in pregnancy, best management of early pregnancy complications, ER utilization for early pregnancy complications, abortion provision and contraception. She is the co-chair of the EPAC Special Interest Group in the Society of Family Planning and regularly attends the International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology ( ISUOG), and Association of Early Pregnancy Units (AEPU) meetings to keep up to date on management of Early Pregnancy complications.
