Dr. John F. Jarrell MD
Dr. Jarrell is currently Professor of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Calgary. He is also a member of the Calgary Health Region Chronic Pain Centre. He received a medical degree at Queen's University in 1972, Training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at McMaster University and a Fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and M.Sc. in Pharmacology at McGill University 1977-79. Dr. Jarrell was Director of the Fertility Clinic at McMaster University until 1988 when he became the Department Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Calgary. In 1994 he served as VP Medical for Foothills Hospital and the first Chief Medical Officer of the Calgary Health Region 1994-2000, subsequently returning to academic clinical practice in 2000 with a focus on pain.
