Dr. Monique Adele Bertrand MD
Dr. Bertrand is currently Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Faculty of Medicine, The University of Western Ontario, and a gynaecologic oncologist at the London Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Hospital, London, Ontario.
Dr. Bertrand has been responsible for numerous addresses and publications, including, most notably, those on her research in the area of premalignant and malignant glandular lesions of the cervix. She is the Past President of the Society of Canadian Colposcopy (SCC) and represented the SCC at the American Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (ASCCP) Consensus Conference for the Management of Cytological Abnormalities and Cervical Cancer Precursors, National Cancer Institute, Bethesda, Maryland (2001, 2006, and 2012). She represents the SCC at the Pan-Canadian Cervical Screening Initiative (PCCSI) for the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer (CPAC). Dr. Bertrand was a member of the Colposcopy Guideline Working Group within the Program in Evidence-based Care at Cancer Care Ontario. She is the President of the Federation of Medical Women of Canada, which has been instrumental in developing awareness of the importance of cervical cancer screening through their Pap Smear Awareness Week initiative.
