Dr. Krisztina Bajzak MD

Dr. Bajzák is currently a member of the Department of Women's Health at the Health Sciences Centre in St. John's, Newfoundland. Her general gynecology practice focuses on minimally invasive surgical procedures. Her other special interests include chronic pelvic pain and female sexual health.
Dr. Bajzák is a graduate of Memorial University. There she obtained her Medical Degree, completed her Residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Master of Science in the field of clinical epidemiology. She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. After residency training, Dr. Bajzák completed a fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic (MIG) surgery at the Center for Women's Care and Reproductive Surgery, with Dr. Thomas Lyons in Atlanta, Georgia. Following this, she worked in private practice in the United States for approximately 8 years before returning to Newfoundland in 2008.
Committed to the instruction of minimally invasive techniques to both students and graduates, Dr. Bajzák has served as faculty for many AAGL instructional courses, particularly those involving Laparoscopic Suturing. She has also contributed as faculty for the Society of Minimally Invasive Gynaecology (SMIG).
Since her return to Canada, Dr. Bajzák has been involved in coordination and instruction of didactic and skills lab instruction in MIG for the Obstetric and Gynaecology residents at Memorial and University of Alberta. Dr. Bajzák was involved in curriculum development as Co-Chair of the AAGL Curriculum Committee and a member of the SMIG Working Group on Education.
Dr. Bajzák is the research director for the Discipline of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Memorial. She is an Editorial Board member for the Journal of Minimally Invasive Gynecology and previous Chair of the AAGL Research Committee.
