Dr. Pedro Saona MD

Dr . Saona is a surgeon and graduate of the National University of San Marcos with a specialty in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He completed a Masters and PhD in medicine at the Peruvian University Cayetano Heredia (UPCH).
He was a physician in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the National Hospital Cayetano Heredia of Lima from 1987 to 2014 and was department head from 2011 to 2013. He has been a staff physician at the San Felipe Clinic since 1990.
He is a full time professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the UPCH teaching at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He is currently the coordinator of the PhD program in medicine at the Faculty of Medicine Alberto Hurtado at the UPCH. He is on the Board of Directors for the Centre for Research in Maternal and Infant Health (MAMAWAWA) at the UPCH.
He is a full academic member of the National Academy of Surgery of Peru, member and past president of the Peruvian Society of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, President of the Peruvian Section of the American Congress of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, full member of the Peruvian Society of Ultrasound and Obstetrics and Gynaecology, the Peruvian Society of Pre and Post Menopause, and the Peruvian Association of Diagnostics and Fetal Treatment.
