Dr. David Sidney Smithson MD
Dr. David Smithson works as a Reproductive Endocrinologist at the Pacific Centre for Reproductive Medicine in Edmonton. He holds an academic appointment at the University of Alberta in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology as a Clinical Lecturer.
His education began with his undergraduate studies at the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University in Kingston followed by his medical degree from the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at Western University in London Ontario. He completed his residency training at Western and his fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology at the University of Ottawa through the Ottawa Fertility Clinic.
His research interests include health economics and operations management with a focus in process improvement and decision modelling. He is currently a member of the SOGC’s Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility committee where he is actively involved in the process of clinical practice guideline development. He is committed to medical education and coordinates the resident rotation at PCRM. His practice interests include third party reproduction including known egg donation and gestational surrogacy as well as male factor infertility.
