Dr. B Anthony Armson is Professor and Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Dalhousie University. He is Past-President, Association of Academic Professionals of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (APOG) and Past-President of the Canadian Society of Maternal Fetal Medicine (CSMFM).

Dr. Armson received his medical school training at Dalhousie University and worked as a general practitioner in New Brunswick, Canada and Jamaica, West Indies. He completed his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Medical College of Pennsylvania and subspecialty training in Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. He joined the academic faculty of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in 1989 and obtained a Master of Science degree in Community Health and Epidemiology from Dalhousie University in May 2000.

His research interests are the prediction and prevention of preterm birth, diabetes in pregnancy and the perinatal consequences of maternal obesity.
