Dr. Catherine Craig MD
Catherine Craig, MD, FRCSC, is a graduate of Memorial University of Newfoundland Medical School and the Dalhousie University Obstetrics and Gynaecology residency program. Since 1994 she has practised general obstetrics and gynaecology in Halifax /Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. She is an Associate Professor at Dalhousie, with special interests in global health and medical education. Her areas of focus are in the use of simulation as a training modality and as an assessment tool in obstetrical emergencies, as well as in technical skill development. She has held various educational and administrative roles at Dalhousie, and is currently coordinator of the core obstetrics rotation for residents, Medical Director of the Obstetrics Simulation Program and Medical Director of the Undergraduate Interprofessional Obstetrics Simulation Program.
Catherine’s academic accomplishments include a Rhodes Scholarship, CREOG Teaching Award, APOG Educator of the Year Award, and APGO Excellence in Teaching Award. Her recent research interests and publications are simulation-focused.
