Dr. Jennifer Ann Jocko MD
Dr. Jocko is an Algonquin First Nations woman, mother, and OB/GYN.
She obtained her MD at McMaster University in 2009. She then pursued an Obstetrics and Gynecology residency at the University of Ottawa in 2014. After residency she joined the Service of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Health Sciences North in Sudbury in August 2014.
Since June 2016 she has taken on the role Regional Cervical Screening and Colposcopy Lead for the NE LHIN.
Jennifer, as mother of two first year Carleton U students. She keeps busy by working full time in her office, as well as providing hospital obstetrical and gynecologic care. In addition, she runs a monthly rural outreach Obstetrics/Gynecology clinic on Manitoulin Island. Rounding out her week she has a weekly half-day clinic at Sudbury’s urban Aboriginal Health Access Centre. Most recently, Jennifer and her business partner/work colleague Karen Splinter have been successful in securing funding to provide IUI, improving access for women in the North to fertility care and are expanding their ever growing Northeastern Ontario Women's Health Network.
