Dr. Heather Christine Millar MD
Heather Millar was born and raised in Thunder Bay, Ontario and came to the "south" to attend university at McMaster, where she completed an Honours Bachelor of Health Sciences degree. She then worked on a health care system development project in the First Nations communities on the Ontario side of the James and Hudson Bays before travelling to Australia to complete a Master's of International Health at the University of Sydney, with a focus on low- and middle-income countries. She completed medical school at the University of Toronto and then decided to stay in the same place (for once!) and is now a PGY4 in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Toronto. When residency allows her the time, she enjoys travelling, reading fiction, cooking (and eating), cottage weekends and visits home to Thunder Bay to ski and camp with family. Heather is excited for her year as Chair of the SOGC Resident Committee, both for the privilege of representing a group of motivated residents, and for the opportunity to be involved in an organization that acts as a leader in Canadian Women's Health.
