Unique collaboration to improve the safety of obstetrical and perinatal care in Canada

HIROC, SOGC, and CMPA join forces as partners in Salus Global

The Healthcare Insurance Reciprocal of Canada (HIROC), the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC), and the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) are proud to announce a new collaboration to improve the safety of obstetrical and perinatal care in Canada. As part of this collaboration, HIROC, SOGC, and the CMPA will share equal ownership of Salus Global, a world leader in obstetrical and perinatal safety programs.

Salus Global helps healthcare organizations and interdisciplinary teams improve teamwork and communication to achieve better clinical, operational, and economic outcomes. Its flagship MOREOB program has been delivered in over 300 North American hospitals and has been proven to enhance the safety of care and reduce adverse events.

This new partnership is rooted in a shared commitment to advance the safety of obstetrical and perinatal care in Canada, and will provide healthcare teams with greater awareness and encourage greater access to the MOREOB program. “Together, we are greater than the sum of our parts,” says Dr. Jennifer Blake, CEO of SOGC. “Ultimately, our collaboration will help improve the safety of care for mothers and newborns across the country.”
