The Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada is an award-winning non-profit organization devoted to optimal women's health.

Founded in 1944, the SOGC establishes national practice guidelines and standards of practice for reproductive health care in Canada. It also develops educational programs for health professionals and the public in order to enhance the health of Canadian women and their families.

Since Sex Sense was first published in 2000 much has happened in Canada in the field of sexual and reproductive health.
