	Biography Dr. Philippa Brain is currently a Clinical Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the University of Calgary. She is also the Regional Division Head of Pediatric Gynaecology. Pippa served as the site lead at Foothills Medical Center in Calgary, for the past 6 years, stepping down in January, 2021. She received her medical degree from Queen's University in 1988 and her fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at McMaster University in 1993. She completed a Certificate in Patient Safety at Oxford University starting in Jan 2023. Dr. Brain is actively involved in continuing medical education and has a strong teaching commitment through the department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Her clinical and research interests involve a variety of women's health issues including pediatric gynaecology, transgender care, pregnancy loss and patient safety.
