Biography
Dr. Wendy V. Norman, MD, MHSc, CCFP, FCFP, DTM&H, is a Professor at the University of British Columbia, Canada. She holds the Public Health Agency of Canada’s Chair in Family Planning Public Health Research and has been a Scientist and Principal Investigator in the BC Women’s Hospital and UBC Women’s Health Research Institute since inception. In 2015 Dr. Norman was awarded the Guttmacher Darroch Award for advancing reproductive health policy research, in 2020 with the inaugural National Mentorship Award of the Society of Obstetricians & Gynecologists of Canada, and in 2021 designated a Woman of Impact by the Government of Canada. She founded and co-leads Canada’s Contraception and Abortion Research Team. Her work engages governments, health regulators, health system leaders, health care professionals in every province and territory and researchers from 11 institutions across Canada. In September 2023 Dr. Norman was invited along with the SOGC’s President Dr. Black, to present research to the Prime Minister’s office.
