	Biography Mrs. Catherine Barker Pinsent is a social worker who serves as the Chair of the Newfoundland and Labrador Child Death Review Committee. Prior to retiring in 2016, she served in various management roles in the social services and health care sectors, spending the majority of her career in child protection. Since retirement, Cathie has volunteered for several regulatory bodies, including the NL College of Social Worker’s Disciplinary Committee and the NL Law Society’s Discipline Panel. She served for a number of years as an interprofessional education facilitator with Memorial University’s for Collaborative Health Professional Education. Cathie is committed to collaborative, interdisciplinary teamwork with the service recipient included. She believes that respectful communication is essential for the reduction of risk across all fields. Disclosure 1.
