Dr. A. Albert Yuzpe MD
Dr. Yuzpe received his MD, MSc and completed his fellowship in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from the University of Western Ontario, London, Canada. During the course of his training, he was a Fellow of the Medical Research Council of Canada for two years, with his research focusing on the development of drugs for ovulation induction, i.e. clomiphene citrate and human menopausal gonadotropin.
Dr. Yuzpe joined the Faculty of Medicine in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, at the University of Western Ontario and progressed through the ranks to Full Professor. He retired from the University on June 30, 1995 and now holds the position of Professor Emeritus. He is past president of the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society and the American Association of Gynaecologic Laparoscopists. He has served as an advisor to Provincial and Federal Governments in the area of the new reproductive technologies. He is also a past chairman of the committee on Reproductive Medicine and Infertility of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and past chair of the Reproductive Endocrine and Infertility Committee of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada.
Dr. Yuzpe has worked in the field of infertility for the past 30 years and IVF since 1982. In 1998 the Canadian Fertility and Andrology Society honored him with the Award of Excellence in Reproductive Medicine.
