Dr. Radha S. Chari MD
Radha Chari is currently Chair Department of Ob-Gyn University of Alberta, Zone Clinical Department Head for Women’s Health and Interim MFM Division Director in Edmonton. Radha was raised in Swift Current Saskatchewan, completing medical school at the University of Saskatchewan, internship at the University of Western Ontario, residency in Ob-Gyn at the University of Alberta and a fellowship in Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM), at the University of Tennessee, Memphis. She has been very active with SOGC committee’s since 2010 and is currently a Co-Chair of the Guideline and Maintenance and Organization Committee (GMOC). She is also involved with clinical teaching at the University of Alberta and is a co-investigator with several medical research teams funded by the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the CIHR, and the NIH.
Dr. Dawn Kingston and Dr. Radha Chari are co-leading Canada’s first consensus statement in perinatal mental healthcare. In collaboration with the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada, the Canadian Psychiatric Association, and the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians, this guideline will set Canada’s first standards of care for mental health screening of pregnant and postpartum women.
