Dr Geneviève Roy MD
Dr. Geneviève Roy is an obstetrician and gynaecologist and clinical associate professor in the department of obstetrics and gynaecology at the University of Montreal.
She works primarily at CHUM, St-Luc’s hospital and at the abortion and family planning clinic at CLSC des Faubourgs, CIUSSS Centre sud-est de l’ïle de Montréal. She is also president of Les Gynécologues Associés, a private practice group of ob-gyns.
She completed medical school and ob-gyn residency at the University of Montreal. She then pursued a postdoctoral sub-specialty training in family planning at the University of California San Francisco and a Masters in public health at the university of California Berkeley.
Her work and expertise are mainly focused on family planning, abortion care and general obstetrics and gynaecology. She teaches and supervises residents and medical students in those fields.
She is also a member of the National Institute of Public Health’s family planning expert committee and STD’s committee where she has participated in many implementation and research projects on contraception and abortion. She also recently participated in the elaboration of SOGC’s Contraception clinical guidelines.
