Laparoscopic Entry for Gynaecological Surgery

Laparoscopic Entry for Gynaecological Surgery
Laparoscopic access into the abdomen is a challenge and careful attention is necessary. This guideline provides direction on methods for laparoscopic entry, safety precautions, and available technologies. In addition, the guideline discusses benefits and risks to laparoscopic surgery. After reviewing the guideline, SOGC members may complete the Guideline Resource Kit which includes an online quiz that will contribute towards continuing medical education credits, and downloadable resources such as a figure depicting Veress needle insertion sites.
